Dr. Roy Knocke is the director of the Lepsiushaus Potsdam. He studied philosophy and cultural studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and received his doctorate from the Ruhr University in Bochum with a thesis on moral and socio-philosophical aspects of genocide. His research interests include the history of humanitarianism around 1900, genocide studies, and the moral history of extreme political violence in the 20th century.

Ulrich Rosenau has been the volunteer managing director of the Lepsiushaus Potsdam since 2014. He studied German, history, and political science, and worked as a teacher and in school supervision in Berlin and Brandenburg until his retirement. As managing director he is responsible for all financial and organizational tasks of the Lepsiushaus Potsdam and its work. He is supported in this day-to-day work by Michael Kühn.

Michael Kühn is a research associate at the Lepsiushaus Potsdam. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in African studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in adult education. He is the contact person for all organizational questions concerning the Lepsiushaus Potsdam.

Dr. Hayk Martirosyan

Dr Hayk Martirosyan is a research associate at the Lepsiushaus Potsdam. He studied Oriental and Turkic studies at Yerevan State University, and received his doctorate from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia with a thesis on the missionary and orphan work of the German Armenian relief organization in the years 1896–1919. His research interests include the history of missions in the Ottoman Empire, Ottoman missionary biographies, and the history of aid organizations and rescue work dedicated to Armenians.

Bartholomäus Kühn

Bartholomäus Kühn studied Latin and history at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Since October 2022 he has been working together with Prof. Hacik Gazer and Dr Roy Knocke on the German Research Foundation (DFG) research project Johannes Lepsius: Writings on the Armenian Question. He closely collaborates with the Lepsiushaus Potsdam on a voluntary basis. Bartholomäus Kühn is thoroughly acquainted with the holdings of the Lepsiushaus Potsdam archive and is available to answer any specific questions you may have.
